Frequently Asked Questions for Machine Embroidery Designs

All of my designs can be reduced in size by approximately 10%.  While this can be done with most software, I recommend using the setting on your embroidery machine.  

*Do not increase the size of the designs as it can and most likely will affect the density of the stitches and any registrations.

This is a common issue many people have had mainly with PES files.

There are different versions of *.PES files and some older software cannot open and read versions above 6.0.  While I have adjusted my methods of export, there may be some designs with the higher or lower versions in my shop.  

To address this, open you embroidery software and go to file and then import design.  Locate the file folder you extracted / unzipped after you downloaded your purchase and you will be presented with a selection of multiple machine formats.  Choose any one you would like.  From there you can save and export to your USB drive  for use in your embroidery machine.

PES Machine Formats come in many different versions.  Each time the code is updated a new version is added.  It is very hard to try to figure out what version your machine will read, especially for older machines so i have devised a simple test for you to  be able to determine what format version you need.

You will find 9  versions of a digitized key.  Starting with version 11, open them on your embroidery machine until you have a usable file.  This is the version of PES file your machine can use.  ie: if you open version 9 and can't read it then try version 8.  If you are able to read version 8 then your machine can read any PES file version 8 and under.
